When he goes over the top, the standard defense is, "Well, he's an entertainer." But being an entertainer never stopped him from going on political talk shows and elsewhere as El Rushbo and not this humble and shy soul he supposedly is; I suppose he'd argue those were entertainment, too. Now that he's over a barrel, it's going to be hard for people to claim, "But he's really gentle and humble in person." The public never saw gentle and humble, and so he's going to have to take it in the shorts for being arrogant and brutal. Television personalities he's worked with, including John Ritter (RIP) and Markie Post, expressed their surprise at how soft spoken and polite he is in person. Conservatives are less pliant than liberals, not less intelligent. I would have thought a well educated person would know that.
