   Princess Caroline, the one who married a professional gambler first, and a guy who claimed to be sterile to get out of the Italian Army second, looks like a saint compared to her siblings. You have to wonder though, who did the kids get their wild ways from? Grace was supposedly very frisky in her Hollywood days, and Rainier had a string of mistresses.

   How does sterility get you 4F from any army, even in Italy? They don’t care if you’re shooting blanks down there, as long as you can shoot live rounds two feet higher. (And then, of course, they went on to have three children.)

   But yes, Caroline looks like the Grand Lady of that crew. Stephanie was always my favorite, falling in love with one “bodyguard” after another, and then, the crowning achievement — a swimwear line. What a girl. Born to wear the purple.

   Even in Italy is the key phrase. I do wonder why the Italians think one needs to be able to father children in order to serve in the military. Maybe it’s their version of “don’t ask, don’t tell?” In any case, his sterility was the People magazine version of what was sleazy about him.

   And here we thought he was gay all this time, when it turns out he just didn’t want to get married.

   Considering the misdemeanors royalty gets themselves into, his reluctance to provide an ‘heir and a spare’ is the only thing that sets him apart.
