You should hope that she does not have much of an impact on the race–when veep picks do, it’s usually a disastrous one, like Thomas Eagleton. She is doing what she is supposed to do–sealing the deal with social conservatives who were nervous about McCain. Getting the PUMA vote? No, only conservatives think that will happen. Conservatives mostly think women are dumb (as Caitlin Flanagan has said out loud), and that any interchangeable vagina will pull in female voters.

Palin’s action on benefits for same-sex partners, Jeff, was essentially compelled by a decision of the state Supreme Court. According to this article, there is no evidence to suggest she has done anything to support gay rights. In fact, the article makes the point that, since taking office, her attention has focused almost entirely on oil and gas issues.

While she opposes gay marriage – as all the national contenders do – Palin’s frequently come out in support of her gay friends and insists she’s open to discussions on discrimination legislation. Palin told an Alaska newspaper that she’s “not out to judge” gay people. She went on to say that she believes “that honoring the family structure is that important,” and would thus oppose a gay marriage measure. She previously supported a 1998 bill to ban gay marriage.

Despite her opposition to same-sex nuptials, Palin helped move Alaska toward a more inclusive frontier in 2006 when she blocked a bill that would have prohibited gay benefits in the state.

My wife is a political science major, has followed politics all her life, thinks this year is the best yet, politically speaking. After listening to the talking heads, surfing the internet to find out Palin’s views on everything, she has come to this startling conclusion. McCain picked Palin because she is, get this, shorter than he is . . . even with her hairdo . . . and that is his guiding criteria. And i sincerely hope that he waits at least two weeks until he hits on Palin, his other guiding criteria.

Do you support aholes with am agenda that torture people and claim it’s to protect you? Do people understand the fact that the New American Centurions tried to talk Clinton into this shit, but he refused to have anything to do with it? There really is no excuse for immoral behavior, no matter what some tortured legalistic piece of shit like John Yoo might fabricate. That’s the kind of legal advice you get when you rely on Fundy diploma mills.

But hey, it’s a republic. Each and every one of us is responsible for the inhuman and illegal behavior of these aholes. And they’ve invaded a country that was a key ally of Raygun, they’ve tortured people, they’ve screwed over Americans that needed health care for the $4billion a week, including wounded vets. There is basically no way in the English language to express or describe the moral turpitude of the current administration. And John McCain wants four more years.

Know what? Bullshit. And the hockey mom thinks the Constitution guarantees a right to sell cop-killer ammo at “gun shows”. Great Murrican.
