The corpse wore plastic.

Sorry for no regular update today. We had one of those last-minute changes of plan this morning, and somehow I ended up shuttling Kate on a school field trip to the Detroit Science Center and staying most of the day. (And giving up a pair of FREE Red Wings tickets for tonight. In some area households, making such a sacrifice for a sick kid is something you remind them of for 10 years at least.)

Low point: Listening to her hack up a lung most of the way there and back, mitigated by the fact most other kids in the group were doing the same thing.

High point: I saw the bodies exhibit. Which I’d like to tell you about, but not now. My feet are tired, and I keep thinking about them being sawed off and donated to science. Check back later.

    ” the bodies exhibit…”

    Ick!

It was here in Atlanta. Dead flayed plasticized political prisoners.

    Ick! I didn’t go…

Alas, I returned them to the sender, who probably needed about 30 seconds to find another lucky couple. Knowing the source, they were probably good ones, too. Sigh.

A field trip to the plastic bodies? What grade is Kate? (I seem to recall she is close to Kailin – 5th grade). Been talking with friends about going there with kids – virtually all have nixed it – thinking it too graphic for their kids. Is it true that the “voluntary” acquisition may be fiction (flayed political prisoners?) Looking forward to reading your take on the thing.

Field trips can be tough – but can’t imagine one being so draining that I give up FREE Red Wings tickets. Next time you have such tickets to give up, email me…. (Yeah like I’d be higher on ayour list than a real world friend! :)) We’ve looked into going but not diligently since we are only casual fans, so we’ve never made the $$$ priority.

The field trip wasn’t to see the bodies, but at one point the adult chaperones had about a 90-minute block of free time, and I went unilateral, so to speak. I offered to take her, but one of her friends went and pronounced it tew-tally gross, so she has no interest.

As for the tix, ah well. We couldn’t have used them anyway. The overexertion cost her — by 5 p.m. the fever was back, along with the dry cough. Jeez, I hate flu.
