   I tried to explain this situation to my wife last night, but she’s a little too far gone to understand. I didn’t tell her that Trump and his cult are doing it because they are evil and actually want the poor to suffer and die, and for no other reason. It would sound too much like hyperbole. But it’s not.

   We are out of town and instead of fully enjoying the time, we are spending time wondering if our flight back to Indiana will be axed and what we will do if it is.

   Yesterday I paid for repairs to the Hoopdee Honda, just $518, in time for the first winter blast, just an inch of snow in about 30 hours from now. I told the clerk at the garage I was very happy to pay it, as a car payment would be roughly that much every month.
   Sports fans: Indiana University football is doing OK in Happy Valley as they are playing beat-down Penn State’s Nittany Lions. I thought maybe this would be IU’s first loss, but not so far; it is indeed looking promising for IU at halftime.
   I , knowing better, laid a fiver on Mega Millions last night as it has another huge pot up for grabs, and , of course, never matched even one digit. I hold out hope , like all pathetic pot-of-gold seekers.
