Did any of you watch Goodbye June on Netflix? Lordy that’s a tear jerker. I had to watch it because Helen Mirren, and she didn’t disappoint but I cried my eyes out.
I also watched Jay Kelly a few days ago and I found it quite good, maybe it’s because I’m old and thinking a lot about that. The character George Clooney played had a lot to regret, I don’t feel regret but I’m definitely thinking about how many or few years I might have left. Some of the movie was weird like the scene where he chases the purse snatcher, not sure what that had to do with anything but I was impressed with Clooney running like that at his age. They made Clooney look very plastic which was appropriate for the character, he has looked better in movies before even when he had to gain a lot of weight for parts. He’s a good looking man but I don’t like the plastic look.
As for the photos of pig parts, gross, but a good photo. Why were comments closed?

The Boar’s Head carol is so old that the earliest versions are in Middle English, and the chorus is in Latin.
Deborah we watched Goodbye June and liked it very much. I cry easily at sad movies – or sometimes the happy ones! The acting was great; did you know Kate Winslet’s son wrote the story? I think it was an assignment for a class and after he wrote it, he asked his mom if she thought it would make a good movie. Kate was interviewed on several talk shows recently when she was doing promotional tours for it. Haven’t seen the Clooney movie yet but will likely watch it soon.
We tried watching Black Rabbit with Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Gave up after (I think) three episodes. It was just too dark, and didn’t hold our interest. However the deaf actor who won the Best Actor Oscar a few years ago for Coda had a small part and he was riveting in it. Speaking of which, PBS had a 2 hour American Masters ep recently (Not Alone Anymore) about Marlee Matlin that we found fascinating. She was in Coda, too.

Not that I thought of it much but I thought Bridget Bardot had died years ago. One of my favorite movies is Contempt with her and Jack Palance is in it. It’s a French movie directed by Godard, it takes place in Italy.
