Nearly forgot…

…our own Ashley “I am not a girl” Morris is featured — with photo — in this story, from Newhouse News Service, on New Orleans expats who came home to rebuild the city. You know why he keeps turning up in stories like this? Because the man is what we journos call a Quote Machine:

“Jack Nicholson in `The Shining’ was me in the winter in Chicago,” he says.

Oh, and for those who still think he’s a girl, just remember: He was named after this one.

Okay, I didn’t know Ashley was male. Sorry.

Nancy, totally off topic, but I posted about something quite humorous in the Columbus media scene this evening.

You are right. That was funny. I had to do a re-read though. At first, I thought it was the reporter that said that.

I was so busy being off-topic last night that I didn’t read the article.

The “spices are the devil” quote was good too.

The Idaho tourist bureau called, and I’m no longer their spud boy.

Ash, I thought the editorial comment about you preferring the “milder” weather in N’Awlins was ironic. Hurricanes (that destroy the city) and sweltering heat are not mild.

The writer put that in. It’s all what one is used to…I’m used to 93 degree days in October and a minimum relative humidity of 85%.

‘Course, I also crank the A/C.

BTW, the hurricane didn’t destroy the city, the failure of the federally maintained levees did.

Exactly, Ashley. Remember the sigh of relief when the hurricane was over and people thought things were not too bad? Thought they had dodged the bullet?
When I heard some federal idiot…was it Bush himself…say that no one could have foreseen the levee breaking, my son noted that Led Zepplin had foreseen it and wrote a song about it.
