Colors are subtle this fall in the Midwest with the dry conditions; we’ve gotta look for them where we can find ’em.

Fall colors here in Indiana are strange because it’s been so dry.

So now we are going to have a Qatar Air Force base in Idaho? Doesn’t Qatar live under Sharia Law? Where are the well armed MAGA militias who warned us about the danger of Sharia Law if we let Muslims in the country?

Gorgeous photos! Are those cubanelles? I’m half tempted to get off my ass and go to a farmer’s market this morning, even though I’ve got more than enough produce of my own. I still have a bunch of tomatoes in the garden — they’ve been enormous for weeks but they’re still green. As are most of the trees around here. It’s the most un-fall-like fall I’ve ever seen.

A very happy birthday to Deborah!
The colors on the mountain have past their prime, but it’s still pretty, and the colors in town have not hit full swing yet. Hopefully there’ll still be quite a bit of autumnal beauty to be seen around town when Deborah gets here next week!
Also hoping for decent weather for the March the day after she gets here.

    Happy Birthday, Deborah!

The fall colors were also muted along the way from Fort Wayne up through Campobello Island in Canada during the trip Dennis just got back from. I follow the Vermont town of Strafford and they’ve had a dry summer after a spring of flooding.

Fall colors in Orlando are the flowers we’re just planting, since it’s finally cool enough for them and what we former midwesterners think of as traditional garden vegetables.

The Mountain Home AFB in Idaho already hosts a detachment of the Singapore Air Force, so adding the Qatari Air Force is not a new concept. What I’m more concerned with is the NATO-like mutual defense pact with Qatar that Trump issued an executive order about. Can he really commit us to defending Qatar by executive order? Will anyone stop him? What if Israel attacks Qatar?
