T-minus 36 minutes until the arrival of painters. Time to reach deep into the blogger’s bag of tricks and pull out this two-bagger until the day settles into a more predictable rhythm — that is, YouTube. (And a YouTube clip I stole from The Poor Man, for a theft/YouTube double. And yes, yes, mixed metaphor. Kiss my butt.)

I don’t know what I like best about this: The cigarette, the way the giant head enters stage left, or the recollection of the cultural moment in the ’70s when Telly Savalas was considered a hottie.

Back later. Enjoy. And hey — who loves ya, baby?

Speaking of Youtube on this nippy morning – there’s this

    an excerpt

NEW YORK – Two of YouTube’s founders stand to divide shares of stock now valued at around $650 million, Web search leader Google Inc. said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday detailing the payout from its $1.65 billion acquisition. Chad Hurley, chief executive of the online video sharing phenomenon YouTube, received 694,087 of Google common stock worth around $326 million, according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Co-founder Steve Chen received Google common stock valued at a similar amount, including 625,366 shares directly owned and another 68,721 shares held in a trust.

Millionaires and billionaires are so…20th century! Maybe they can literally become the world’s first googleaires

    Aaaaaaah! “Talking” songs!!

Makes me think of Shatner’s “Hey Mr. Tambourine Man” or this rendition of “Rocket Man.”

I think Tony Bennett did a spoken word rendition of Lady Madonna on an album where he does all Beatles. It too was a howler.

Best talking song ever: “The Men in My Little Girl’s Life.” Best performed by Mike Douglas.

I still chuckle recalling Chevy Chase doing a great SNL skit — “Very White,” a takeoff on Barry White. He didn’t have to sing like Barry White but no matter because he talked an entire song like Barry White.

Why have you cursed me with that Mike Douglas song. “If..” was bad enough. Now I have,”…there’s a boy outside. His name is Tim. He’s wants to know if I’ll marry him.”
I’ll need to go watch people in the waiting area of the outpatient GI lab to get this off my mind. Nothing like seeing people anticipating a scoping to give you some prespective.
