So… I was taking my daughter Brigid to high school yesterday, and we were listening to NPR, and they promoted the upcoming stories on Morning Edition.
We both thought we heard, “The Queen of England died at the White House last night.”
Of course, what they said was that she “dined,” but for awhile we both freaked out, imagining all the implications…

Funny stuff! While it never breaks my heart to see a king or queen become displeased with the antics of an elected person, still — it would be better if we had confidence that the president was capable of proper behavior (and therefore needling her a bit) as opposed to simply clumsy
But I wanted to make a ‘hyper-local’ digression: Matt Kelty won the Republican mayoral primary here in Fort Wayne last night. Huzzah!! Huzzah!!
Why is this remarkable? Because the guy he beat was a prototype Allen County Republican guy — white, connected, already in county government, loved by Pat White (local talk radio “tool” — as Nance might say!).…and: endorsed by the 6th Congressional district’s own Empty-suit/empty-headed/angry elfin hypocritical congressman Mark Souder!!
So — I’ll TAKE this small (more or less inter nicene) victory over the establishment Allen County GOP.…and I look forward to Pat White’s bleating this afternoon. (Last time the Favored Candidate went down, it was when Linda Buskirk bitch-slapped Pat’s buddy the sheriff; which he STILL insists was a Dirty Trick by the Democrats!! hahahahaha)

Brian, I’m certainly rejoicing in the local GOP’s anguish. Now they’re stuck with the simpering twink nobody thought could win and the Dems actually stand a fair chance this fall.

i’d call bush a tool, but a tool is useful.

If the Dems “actually stand a chance” against “a simpering twink”, they doesn’t say much for the Dems, now, does it.

I saw this story earlier today and was going to comment here, but thought it not worth it, any conclusions are so obvious.
At long last, just what does this man think about?

Proofread, Mark, please: “that”, not “they”.
